Our House provides a caring environment where parents can share their worries and concerns with families in similar situations. Because we’re an alternative to expensive, isolated hotel rooms, families can stay together.
Our House has 20 fully furnished private bedrooms plus common areas for families, including play and quiet areas for all ages, an outdoor accessible playground, a large modern kitchen, two dining rooms, free laundry and two accessible elevators. Our classroom is a favorite place for the children, where our teacher helps them keep up with their studies.
Our bilingual staff is on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We serve families from the University of Texas Medical Branch and Shriners Children’s Texas.
Any family with a child 21 and under, or an individual being followed by a pediatric service and treated in Galveston, may be referred through their hospital or clinic case worker. No family is ever turned away for inability to pay. We welcome any donation a family is able to make, and we gladly accept payments from a family’s insurance.
House hours
8:00am to 10:00pm.
Check-in: 9:00am to 8:00pm.
Check-out: 9:00am to 12:00pm.
The House is locked at 10:00pm each night for safety, and caregivers must stay with their child at all times while in the House.
